So wait, WHAT almost happened with the nuclear football?

Courtesy of Axios:

On Thursday Nov. 9, when President Trump and his team visited Beijing's Great Hall of the People, Chief of Staff John Kelly and a U.S. Secret Service agent skirmished with Chinese security officials over the nuclear football.

I've spoken to five sources familiar with the events. Here's what happened, as they describe it:

When the U.S. military aide carrying the nuclear football entered the Great Hall, Chinese security officials blocked his entry. (The official who carries the nuclear football is supposed to stay close to the president at all times, along with a doctor.)

A U.S. official hurried into the adjoining room and told Kelly what was happening. Kelly rushed over and told the U.S. officials to keep walking — "We're moving in," he said — and the Americans all started moving.

Then there was a commotion. A Chinese security official grabbed Kelly, and Kelly shoved the man’s hand off of his body. Then a U.S. Secret Service agent grabbed the Chinese security official and tackled him to the ground.

The whole scuffle was over in a flash, and the U.S. officials told about the incident were asked to keep quiet about it. Trump's team followed the normal security procedure to brief the Chinese before their visit to Beijing, according to a person familiar with the trip — but somebody at the Chinese end either didn't get the memo or decided to mess with the Americans anyway.

The article goes on to state that at no time did the Chinese have the nuclear football in their possession, but I do not take a whole lot of comfort in that.

It sounds to me like the Trump Administration barely avoided yet another foreign relations nightmare.

This is what happens when a puppet of the Kremlin fills his cabinet with the modern version of the Keystone Kops.

All I have to say is that we NEVER heard stories like this during the Obama Administration.

Sounds to me like the Chinese don't trust Trump with the nuvlear codes any more than we do. I don't blame them.

Why the hell does ANY president need that thing near them at all times?? Never know when you need a kneejerk fact-free spur of the moment improvised nuclear strike...?

The nuclear football should not be anywhere near trump in the first place.
As for this story, i am not sure if i believe it,could this be a story to make Kelly look like some kind of hero after the mess about wife beaters with security clearances.

What an exaggeration, 3:24 PM! Plus, not factual!

Oh yes 3:53, it is entirely factual. The Nobel winning President dropped a LOT of bombs in many countries during his tenure. The number 26,171 is just the 'known' number in the last year of his Presidency alone. The real number is likely much higher.

President Obama did authorize bombings in multiple countries while in office. The Nobel was given to him in hopes he would not start New conflicts in the world, unfortunately that never happened. I still think he was the best President we have had in this century.

  10. OT:

    I called it!

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/donald-trump-ranked-worst-president-215700182.html

"Nearly 200 of America's top political scientists have voted Donald Trump the worst president in US history.

According to the 2018 Presidents & Executive Politics Presidential Greatness Survey, Mr Trump ranks even lower than disgraced President Richard Nixon – even among conservatives. Abraham Lincoln, unsurprisingly, takes the top prize. Mr Nixon sits at 33.

The study, conducted every four years, surveys social science researchers from the American Political Science Association’s section on presidents and executive politics. It asks the experts to rank each president’s greatness on a scale of 0 to 100, with 100 being great, 50 being average, and 0 being a total failure.

Mr Trump averaged a score of 12.34, bumping James Buchanan – the president who saw the US descend into the Civil War – out of the bottom spot. The result comes just months after Trump finished his first year in office as the most unpopular president in modern history."

"Mr Trump was accompanied in the bottom five by Andrew Johnson, Franklin Pierce, William Harrison, and Mr Buchanan."

"The top seven presidents remained the exact same, with Abraham Lincoln on top, followed by George Washington, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson, Harry Truman and Dwight Eisenhower."

"Mr Trump’s predecessor, Barack Obama, jumped 10 places since the survey was last conducted in 2014, to spot number eight. George W Bush also climbs in the rankings, making it five places up to number 30.

Bill Clinton did not fair was well as the other living presidents, dropping five places down to 14th. Only Andrew Jackson dropped more – down six places – possibly owing to increased attention on how he treated Native Americans."

So Trump is on the bottom. He can't get any lower. But with each succeeding president, he will remain at the very bottom. No matter how many presidents the United States has, Dullard Judas Drumpf will forever reaming on the very bottom, dead last, worst president ever.

Wow! That's amazing. And a little concerning - is Tripp "special" low IQ like his mom? Because it would be Abbynormal for people with thinking skills to be happy every day of their life. It mean they lack the ability to empathize and reason and respond to dangerous situations.
For example, was he happy the day Toad was in the hospital from the serious assault injuries errr snowmobile crash injuries? Was he happy when he was left in a car with a stranger at the drunken brawl or when his mommy was drunk crying about her lost phucking sunglasses? Was he happy when grandma Sarah fell down "rock running" and got bad booboo over her eye? Is he happy each time he makes a friend/ loses a friend as he changes schools yet again? Is he happy when one of his multiple pets goes missing?
These are just a few "what ifs" - and my kids would not have been happy on those days.
I guess low IQ and/or mental illness cluelessness makes one happy ALL THE TIME!
