HHS to take federal health insurance exchange websites offline for most Sundays during the upcoming open enrollment sessions. You know, because that's so helpful.

Courtesy of HuffPo:

The Trump administration plans to shut down the federal health insurance exchange for 12 hours during all but one Sunday in the upcoming open enrollment season.

The shutdown will occur from 12 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET on every Sunday except Dec. 10.

The Department of Health and Human Services will also shut down the federal exchange — healthcare.gov — overnight on the first day of open enrollment, Nov. 1. More than three dozen states use that exchange for their marketplaces.

HHS officials disclosed this information Friday during a webinar with community groups that help people enroll.

So if they cannot simply repeal Obamacare out right, plan B is to sabotage it from within.

Just like the Republicans to undermine government effectiveness so that they can then claim that government is completely ineffective.

Just like Amazon goes offline one day a week the month before Christmas.

    These guys are downright evil.

With a Secretary who uses private planes-they had to make some cuts somewhere to meet budget?

This is how evil works. Anyone who is stupid enough to vote republican deserves the dystopia (except for the rich) they work to bring.

At least the latest attempt to take away healthcare is looking dim. Fingers crossed here.

“My primary focus, I must tell you — and has been from the beginning as you can imagine — is taxes,” Trump continued. “I believe we will be successful in the largest tax cut in our country’s history.” Trump

Wealthcare for billionaires is his focus. He could care less about healthcare for the populace.

    1. If his tax deform, er, reform is anything like his repeal and replace, it's going to go down in flames too.

Imagine if you can, NO major legislation getting passed in the two years leading up to the 2018 elections. What do you think is going to happen? Extend it for two more years and what will happen in 2020.

Trump should resign and quit while he's ahead and still a free man.

It's so churches can't help people fill out the forms, as many have stepped up to do so with the obstruction by The RUmp.

Horrible country we live in. Just like Putin told Trump to make it. And he's doing it. No one's really, really protesting because as the "people" we've been muffled too long by conspiracy theories, Republican hypocrisy, Democrat's complacency, and McDonald's greasy food running through our veins, making us all fat and lazy.

Wrong. We live, still, in the greatest country in the world. And we will regain our footing in spite of DJT and sheeple like you.

Georgia Peach I can't help but believe that you have some blind confidence in this country.

Our scores in education are nearly the lowest out of all of the developed nations. We no longer manufacture most of our goods and we hire an abundance of our skilled and technical labor force from outside of the country. Unlike most civilized nations we do not provide basic healthcare for our population.

There is no way that we can continue on this path and being considered "exceptional" by anyone but a few misguided Americans. All signs point to a country on the way down the ladder.

Well, as long as we believe that, we are doomed. I believe that we are what we believe. I see individuals making a difference, and, as an individual, I will be goddamned if I will buy into my powerlessness in the face of apathy, or pessimism, or anger. I'm not giving up on us rising to our better selves and if it takes hardship to get us there, so be it. Funny how adversity often brings out the best of us.

"That which does not kill us makes us stronger." Nietzsche

If you can't see the pendulum starting to swing in the opposite direction, then you aren't paying attention.

Add another reason to the list of impeachable offenses. They took an oath to do no harm to the American public. Denying accessing to the website, is denying access to health insurance.

I live in one of the states that uses the federal site and I will make sure these clowns do not keep me from getting health insurance if I have to stay on the site for a month.

  12. They've reduced the enrollment timeline from 90 days to 45. With the shut downs more like 42. Plus they've cut the budget for advertising the ACA.
